A Few Ramblings About “Artistic Pornography”. 120
Hello, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything here.
This was meant to be a response to this.
It can be art, but it depends on how it’s done.
The common connotation for pornography consists of distastefully taken photographs of nudes taken for the sake of sexual pleasures of the viewer, and not for the sake of making art. In many websites, they are taken simply for making profit out of customers who wish to be pleasured by seeing such images.
Of course, I have nothing against artistic nudes, they are something I have been exposed to even when I was a bit younger (thanks to all those art books with artistic nudes and nude paintings in them), but pornography created simply to make profit or simply to boost someone’s libido isn’t what you can call ‘art’ right away, per se.
About art drawing emotion of any kind of the viewer, almost anything can draw emotion of any kind from a viewer. Though it may not be powerful enough to surface on the conscious level, anyone can be primed with anything. (I am performing a study in this, and I have proven this with photographs and objects depicting or associated with certain emotions.)
Just my two cents, I’m sorry if I had to load you with this.
